It is now 20 years since the foundation of Fiskey. The pioneers Olafur Halldorsson and Erlendur Jonsson started the operation with a very good support from local fisheries companies, local communuties and private investors. The first 2 juveniles were produced in 1990. Still the quest for the truth about the Holy fish, Halibut, goes on. It is a mystic fish and we have learned that the truth about Halibut will never be fully revealed, same as with our lives. Most of us learn more about our lives and ourselves with age. How well we do in life depends on how much we learn on our way. The same goes with halibut farming.

Fiskey Ltd. was operated with 71 m.ISK loss in 2006. The operation results improved a lot between years with 73% increase in income of 217 m.ISK in the year 2006. On-growing in Þorlakshöfn was stopped which resulted in a considerable reduction of cost. Profit before depreciation was 11 m.ISK and cash from operations was 29 m.ISK.

Fiskey ehf has now been merged with its mother company, Fiskeldi Eyjafjarðar hf. The name of Fiskeldi Eyjafjarðar hf. has in addition been changed to Fiskey hf. Fiskey hf subsequently takes over all the operations, operating capital and liabilities of Fiskey ehf. The aim of this change is to simplify the operation of the Company.

Share capital in Fiskeldi Eyjafjardar hf is now electronically registered at the Icelandic Securites Depository (www.vbsi.is). Paper shares are no longer valid. All transactions with shares in the Company must be handled by the shareholder´s financial institute (bank) through a specified VS-account.

Fiskeldi Eyjafjardar hf has now been unlisted from the Icelandic Stock Exchange.
